Never one to allow good news to stand in the way of bad, the Detroit Lions announced the signing of their first round pick (Calvin Johnson) on Friday, as well as the placing of their other rookie project (Drew Stanton) on Injured Reserve. Stanton had surgery on his knee almost immediately after joining the team, […]

Kevin Johnson “50-50″ For Season Opener
According to MLive.com’s Tom Kowalksi, Kevin Jones Is 50-50 For The Season Opener. He is recovering from Lisfranc surgery (that’s techspeak for foot surgery), and even though he is recovering nicely, he reportedly is still having limitations cutting. The regular season opener is September 9th, and there is a good chance that he starts the […]

Lions Off-Season Report #2 - Fantasy Football Impact Players
The Lions open training camp on Wednesday. I’m psyched to see football return and it will be interesting to see how the team shapes up this summer. Like most of you, we are avid fantasy football geeks and the Lions have some really nice fantasy options to keep an eye on. So, for this off-season […]

Kitna Says Lions Will Win 10 Games Or More
Argh…
Where to start? Everybody is talking about Jon Kitna’s recent claim that the Lions will win at least ten games this year. I’m not even going to work to find the right link or quote that backs up this claim. Who knows, it might be incorrect. But the point is - everyone believes that Jon […]

Kasper Cut. Bradford Re-Signed. McCown at WR. Huh?
What the hell is going on at the WR position for Detroit? I recently asked anyone to explain why Hakim, Bodiford and Bradford were cut while Mike Williams remains on the team. No one offered to rationally explain what is going on. Now comes news that Corey Bradford has been re-signed and Kevin Kasper has […]

Stop The Insanity: Lions Sign WR Kevin Kaspar
In a move that impressed no one, the Detroit Lions signed journeyman wide receiver Kevin Kaspar on Friday. The deal is reportedly a one year deal for the league minimum. Of course, the Lions recently released proven wide receiver Az Hakim, high draft pick Shaun Bodiford and Charles Rogers. In the meantime, first round draft […]

Revolving WRs: Lions Waive Az Hakim
Okay I am not even going to try and make sense of this. Apparently the Detroit Lions waived Az Hakim yesterday. Um… Why? He’s played well and he knows the Mike Martz passing game better than any of the wide receivers.
So anyway, Hakim is gone (as is Shaun Bodiford, who was picked up immediately […]
