A Guy Walks Into A Bar…
Okay. A good friend of mine just told me a pretty good joke. It’s not as relevant today as it was a couple years back (before Mike Martz came to town) but its still pretty damn funny. ANYWAY…
This guy walks into a bar wearing a Lions jersey and carrying a little dog that also has […]

NFL Video Crackdown
Here’s an interesting development. The NFL wants to limit the amount of video footage that news media (including online news groups) can show. The new limit is 45 seconds. So, in effect you can only show 45 seconds of any press conference, player interview or practice footage.
We don’t really get into showing lots of video […]

Lions Off-Season Report #1
With the draft right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to analyze the Detroit Lions activity so far this off-season. This team continues to bewilder prognosticators, fans and even players, but that won’t stop me from trying to make some sense of it all. However, I might just need a drink when I’m done. […]

I’m Back!
That’s right, fellow Lions fans, I’m back. I’ve been relaxing, taking a little vacation from the love/hate relationship that I have with the Lions. I’ve been laying low in the Michigan snow, and I even spent a little time in Cabo, drinking Tequila at Sammy Hagar’s joint. Very nice. Highly recommended mi amigos. But now, […]

Wishful Thinking On A Bye - Fire Millen & The Tampa 2
Okay, with the Lions on a bye, and the team at 1-6, you would think that now might be the perfect time to fire team CEO/GM Matt Millen. I don’t want to get personal (I’m sure he’s a nice guy) but the truth is that he hasn’t gotten the job done. Millen inherited a 9-7 […]

Week 4 Preview: The Lions vs. The Rams
As the Lions stumble into week four, they face a tough opponent in the new, “more balanced” St. Louis Rams team coached by Scott Linehan. The Rams are attempting to run the ball more this season and they also have shored up what has traditonally been a porous defense. The whole “return of Mike Martz” […]

Week 2 Preview: Lions vs. Bears
The Detroit Lions are one of the league’s most enigmatic teams this year. No one knows for sure if they are truly improving under new coach Rod Marinelli, or if they are simply getting a short term boost of “new coach” enthusiasm. As the Lions face off against their division rival this weekend, a true […]

Lions Training Camp Questions Abound
With training camp opening tomorrow for the Detroit Lions, the Lions once again are going into the season with more questions than answers. Here are the top three issues facing the team at this point, as I see it.
Is Rod Marinelli The Real Deal? If Not, Would Mike Martz Take Over?
I’ll be honest. I am […]

Welcome To The Detroit Lions Fan Blog
Why a blog about the Detroit Lions? Maybe it’s devotion, maybe it’s frustration, but this is a blog I felt that I just had to start. I was born in Michigan and have been a Lions fan my entire life, despite moving to several other cities over the years. I’ve had chances to switch allegiances […]
