Marinelli Hires Son In Law For Defensive Coordinator
Detroit Lions head coach Rod Marinelli has hired his son in law to be his new Defensive Coordinator. And no, I’m not making that up. According to the Detroit Free Press, “Lions coach Rod Marinelli says he hired Joe Barry to be his defensive coordinator because of football, not family. Barry is married to Marinelli’s daughter Chris, and they have four children.”
Marinelli also hired his son in law’s father to be the Lions’ assistant offensive line coach. Matt Millen will apparently remain as President and CEO. Mike Martz, the only positive thing that has happened to the Lions in years, is already being rumored to be a top candidate for the new coaching vacancy in Miami.
Nice.
